Last week we decided to have a quick meeting about the blog & ended up at Soet Society Café in Durbanville.
You are greeted with vibrant colours, eccentric décor & the most delicious smell of freshly made coffee & bakery goods in the air. Immediately the cosy atmosphere made us feel right at home.
We started off with some coffee & red cappuccinos, we were not disappointed. To be fair, Soet is famous for delicious hot drinks & beautiful coffee art. Keep in mind we were simply meeting up for a quick cup or two, but after standing on tables & chairs to get the perfect pictures (Shoutout to the staff for being super cool about this), we simply couldn’t help ourselves to explore the menu.
Cake has always been our naughty treat & with these beautiful cakes on display AND the name being “Soet”, there was simply no other way. They were friendly enough to give us an assorted cake platter of their best-selling sweet treats: Vanilla Chocolate Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Cherry Caramel Cake & a Lindt Chocolate Tart.
Alas, in the end there could only be one winner – The Lindt Chocolate Tart – Amazing does not even begin to describe & this is simply a MUST TRY for those with a sweet tooth.
They offer a wide variety on their menu: Breakfast, quiches, lunches & then of course the stuff that hits the sweet spot.
Now, Sweet Society Café forms part of Soet Emporium – This is a meeting place for everyone. Be it business men needing to get through all their emails or a group of girlfriends chatting about their day’s shenanigans.
The emporium also has a flower studio, a winelands art gallery, fashion boutiques as well as a beauty salon. This is definitely something to keep in mind over the weekend. Be sure to visit their website & follow them on Instagram (@soet_society_cafe) to read all about these services.
