A few weeks ago I was invited to test out Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup
foundation range & I got to take home my own shade (2C3 Fresco) to properly put it to the test.
Most of my clients, followers & friends know that I’m not a hectic foundation girl myself, but I do make it my mission to find the best products out there to work with.
So over the last two weeks this foundation has been my go-to. Now, this product makes a lot of promises & I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to its word.
15 Hours staying power.
Yes! 15 HOURS!
Now for someone like me with oily-combination skin, this is gold. Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup, quite literally stays in place. No movement took place, even on hotter days.
I found that the formula gives medium coverage but since it is buildable, you can achieve a full coverage look. It is lightweight though, so you won’t feel too layered. I would say it has a more matte-finish than satin & the skin might look a bit ‘flat’ if you’re on the drier side. Since I don’t have overall dry skin, I would like to try this foundation on dry skin mixed with a facial oil or serum to see how it reacts.
Other key features that stood out for me was the fact that the formula doesn’t oxidise, in other words, it doesn’t change colour over time. It also contains SPF10 to help protect against sun-damage.*
I would like to see a pump on this product. It’s quite runny, so needing to pour it out leads to product wastage & we don’t want that. A 30ml will cost you between R525.00 – R545.00 at selected Estée Lauder (@esteelaudersa) stockists.
Overall I am really happy with how my skin felt & looked. No need to touch-up is always a plus. This one definitely gets the thumbs-up from me**

* Even if makeup products contain SPF, I highly recommend that sunscreen is still worn underneath.
